The areas that were connected in the Spice Routes didn’t merely trade or produce spices. They lived other roles in supporting the rotation of spices in different areas or in the center of spice producers. Within the historical notes, Demak Central Java became a significant rice supplier for other areas, including Maluku as the center of nutmeg and clove.
