admin| 1 October 2020

On Friday (25/9), Arka Kinari berthed around the Lava Flow, Gunung Api Island, as a part of the Banda Islands. As the rapid test results proved non-reactive, the crews were allowed to step into Banda Neira Islands.

The people of Banda Neira Islands welcomed Arka Kinari crews traditionally by performing Kora-kora and Cakalele Kampung Fiat from the entrance of Banda Neira Bay. Further, the owners of Arka Kinari Grey Filastine and Nova Ruth joined the lively traditional event by riding kora-kora and rowed it together with the people of Banda Neira until they reached the land.

Following the welcoming event, they held cordage and read the wind direction workshop with Arka Kinari crews. The youths of Banda, as the participants, showed their enthusiasm for joining the workshop. They also learned to understand Sustainable Living by imparting life in consciousness, buying less, planting more, and reviving the traces of local wisdom that everyone can do everywhere.

Conjuring the ship into a floating stage, as musicians, the two owners of Arka Kinari performed a show. From the land, the Bandanese enjoyed the show. Both musicians collaborated with Banda Neira kids at the end of their performance through their Sangar Manisan Pala.

Collaborating with the Spice Routes program, Arka Kinari traced the history of spices, and together they learned to save the earth and the sea. They closed the show before finally continuing the journey to Selayar Islands
