Andaliman
Andaliman (Zanthoxylum acanthopodium DC) has a soft citrus scent but is spicy enough to leave a feeling of numbness on the tongue. It is in the form of a seed the size of a bright green peppercorn with small twigs, when it is old it is blackish in color. Andilaman is also known as "Batak pepper" because it is often found as a spice in Batak cuisine.
